Open17 August, 2013Sounds like your Shih Tzu is trying to tell the puppy who is the domiannt leader of the pack. You need to take that role and show them who the pack leader is, so they do not have to settle it between them. Shouting or a loud "NO" will NOT do it. You have to be calm assertive in dealing with them. Playfully get your Shih Tzu to be submissive to you. Get him to roll on his back and let you rub his tummy. Then bring your EBD over and try and get the same from him, next to each other. Do this in regular play time, but by getting both dogs submissive to you, they will learn that you are the pack leader, and when you ask them to calm down, they should listen. This will not happen over night, but if you are consistent with your play which ends with both being submissive, then you are on your way to having two happy dogs.References :
